Book Pals
Every month during the school year each student in the participating Book Pals classroom received a book to keep and an activity to go with the books from Andy’s Books. Each activity also included writing monthly letters back and forth between students (Book Pals) in classes.
Kishwaukee Elementary School
At the Kishawukee Family Fun Night books were given to each child both to enrich the kids' vocabulary and reading experiences and to encourage quality family time.
Cops n' Kids
Andy's Books donated 2 books for every child at Fairgrounds and Orton Keyes HeadStart programs, 718 books in total. Cops n' Kids is an event sponsored by the Salvation Army, this program is designed both to give books to children who have little access to them and to provide a positive experience with the local police who sign the books the children choose.

Andy’s Books for Kids… Sounds Like a Plan!, our not for profit organization honoring our son, Andy Hodge, who lost his life to a brain tumor in 2006, is in its eighth year of donating new children’s books to kids in the greater Rockford area and beyond. In our current economy, it has become all too common for families to consider buying books for their children a luxury rather than a necessity. So Andy’s Books is stepping in to help fill that gap.

Andy’s Books completed 23 donation events this school calendar year. Please click here for information about these and our other current and past donation projects. Or you may contact me directly by email at meghodge@andysbooks.org.

You may donate either online by clicking here or by check, made out to Andy’s Books for Kids and mailed to 11708 Inverway, Belvidere, IL 61008.

Every gift will be directly applied to the purchase of new children’s books, making a difference to so many of our kids.
Andy’s Books is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization and all donations are tax deductible.
